Nitrous Ti Frame
Nitrous Ti Frame
Nitrous
The big change for the 2024 model year is uhh, nothing! But, we could not leave it completely unchanged, so, new for 2024 is a 3D printed chain stay 1/2 yoke, with massive 2.6" tire clearance and room for a 38t round chainring, but with 3D printing we were actually able to increase the stiffness in the bottom bracket area! We also created custom 3D printed cable routing ports that are sleeker and smoother and designed to make it easier to run the internal control lines. There was no change to geometry or tube spec, would not want to mess with perfection!
The Nitrous already had UDH, which allows you to use the newest SRAM 'Transmission' rear derailleur and drivetrain. And each frame is shipped with a Universal Derailleur Hanger so any derailleur from the last 4 decades can be installed and with the multiport cable routing options you can choose electric or mechanical shifting and internally routed dropper post.
Why was the Nitrous created? For fast cross country type rides, but with a fully modern geometry. There is no reason that a XC / fast trail bike designed to really be pedaled in anger should have a seat angle from 1992 and the head tube angle from a decade ago. Modern longer, lower, slacker works better than the old geometry on light fast bikes.
Why a hard tail?? For many of us, there is a ton of riding that does not require a full suspension bike, and with trail sanitation happening daily, more and more trails are becoming more fun on a hardtail!
So, the Nitrous is far more capable feeling than any gravel bike when the going gets rough, and conversely far lighter, and more responsive to pedal input than a full suspension bike for powering along on the less demanding terrain that so many of us have easy access to.
So, is the Nitrous a fast XC bike or is it a stable ‘down-county’ trail bike capable of ripping thru the woods ducking branches and carving up the spaces between the trees, or is it the perfect bike for Leadville type endurance races? I would say yes, it is.

Features
CUSTOM SHAPED TITANIUM TUBESET
Subtle shaping at the lower end of the Down Tube to the spread load over the BB shell and a dramatically flared Seat Tube both increase lateral rigidity for better feel when smashing the pedals. Along with the custom tapered chainstays, these subtle features set the Turner Ti ahead of the pack when it comes to ride tuning.
12mm Bolted AXLE
Bolts are stronger, stiffer, and simpler. Which is exactly why all our bikes come with them, it simply makes sense.
DESIGNED IN THE USA
Every aspect of this Turner Ti frame is designed and engineered in the USA. From the gorgeous CNC tapered head tubes to the proprietary dropouts, we have designed every aspect of the frame.
As you probably figured out from the great price and long list of standard features, this frame is imported. We found this factory when we were producing the carbon Flux frames years ago. Soon after we started developing the first Ti Cyclosys with them. Our frames are not the first or the only Ti bicycle frames they build, as they are a factory long known for building world-class titanium mountain and road frames. What drew us to this factory was their ability to taper and create butted titanium tubing, and their massive CNC capabilities allowing us to create exactly what we wanted with out cookie cutter head tubes, bottom brackets and dropouts. Even our chainstay bridge is CNC out of billet to be super thin and not create a mud shelf!
T47 BB
‘T’ stands for threaded! Due to popular demand threads are back, and the new T47 offers bigger bearings & longer service life than older threaded standards. It will easily fit the larger and 30mm aluminum spindle creating a stiffer crank assembly, which is up to 18% lighter than the traditional steel spindle system.

If you've been fortunate to own a Turner over the years, ANY Turner, you understand why these reviews are so glowingly positive ! I've had... four (if you count my K2 Razorback!) ... and this Nitrous, for my style of riding here at age 70, is the pinnacle. Expertly built up with super components, from the electric shifting SRAM gearing, to the Onyx/Berd/WeAreOne/Tufo wonderfuly light and responsive wheels, to this latest dropper from OneUP - what a JOY to venture out on this new Turner Nitrous !!! Thank you Dave for the incredible bikes you've given us all, and for being the guy you are !

I saw a video review on You Tube, Hard Tail Party and he was so impressed with the bike....so in order to feed my Titanium fetish.... I'm not a technical rider and I'm sure others will have better input on the frame. Build quality is perfect, nice welds, rear droputs durable looking, looks like internal seat tube has internal bracing, three sets of water bottle holders. Nice to have internal routing makes the build so clean. Headtube is nice. Super short seat tube. Low top tube which I like. BIke handles well and IMHO quickness in steering can be adjusted via stem choice. Responsive to weight placement.
Not many will choose a fixed seat post, but I prefer one...just be mindfull you will need a long seat post due to the short seat tube...I needed a 475mm post....which wasn't easy to find..especially in titanium....but David is working on supplying one in the future.. This won't matter to many people as most will choose a dropper.
David is super responsive and seemed to value my input,,, who does that???!!!
I believe that this is Turner #7 between Suebee and I. I know my way around building out a bike, but there are always options that I prefer to discuss. DT was always on point for a lengthy conversation that went off the deep end. Much of which was about aging not so gracefully as a lifelong cyclist. Tinnitus & shoulder surgery were commingled with stem length, wheels and bar manufactures. God, I love those conversations!
Onto the bike… that moment that you sling a leg over it and clip in for the neighborhood shakedown and find yourself at home before the driveway ends is what I come to expect. The bike is on point. Although I have yet to delve into the meaty trails, I am confident the bike will deliver.
This frame is building up really nicely. I’m doing the build myself, and I appreciate the clever cable routing ports which do make running internal cables much easier. I have 2.4” Ardent tires on at this point, and they fit with lots of space for mud. I have a 140 Revelation fork on it, which feels awesome so far on my test rolls. I’m still waiting on cranks, brakes and free hub body to complete the build. Can’t wait for drier trails to try the Nitrous!
This bike is an absolute joy! It rekindles the essence of why I fell in love with mountain biking. The experience it offers is nothing short of exhilarating. Surprisingly, despite my initial concerns, I am far less battered after rides. It has changed some of my views of full suspension! The combination of its 29er wheels, titanium frame, turbo light inserts, and lower tire pressure results in a winning formula. Riding it is effortless, and I'm particularly amazed by its descending capabilities—it's an absolute thrill! I'm sending smaller jumps, just ensuring perfect landings on the backsides. The bike's speed is remarkable even when I'm not pushing it. Within just a week of owning it, I've achieved several Strava PRs and even a few top 10 spots, which, considering my age of 52, flat pedals, and being out of biking shape, speaks volumes. My dogs are wondering about the uphill drug that I am on—haha! This bike represents a significant step in the right direction. Its inherent lightness initially feels almost unnatural (having been institutionalized to heavier bikes), but you quickly adapt and come to appreciate it. Even loading and unloading it from the truck bed is a breeze due to its lightweight.
It took some time to fine-tune the cockpit setup, but ultimately, I've found that a 35mm rise bar paired with a 50mm stem provides the perfect balance of roominess and confidence-inspiring control.
The various responses on MTBR from DT over the past few years, along with several frame reviews, heavily influenced my decision to purchase this bike. I appreciate all of these comments so I could make an informed purchase!
Throughout the purchase and the build, DT answered my questions quickly and thoughtfully - thanks!
The bike came out fantastic! I love its look, and the pink makes it stand out. I have gotten lots of kudos (which is all that matters—haha)!
I couldn't be more delighted! It has reignited a newfound passion for biking within me again, which is truly remarkable!
